There are times, I find, when it is best to keep my trap shut. Even if someone is truly playing the hack, the fraud, the misguided rabble rouser who does know better. But I also know to sometimes save the words, save them for just the right time. Give the word time to gather their strength, change into the words they are meant to be, and strike at just the right moment.
That is what I get from this piece I made here.
It is made from a collection of parts from around my studio that found their place after floating around from boxes to shelves. Things I have saved or collected over the years waiting to be placed together and create just the right symbol for that feeling I sometimes get.
The hand is plastic and enamel, the arrow of metal.
The base I made of pine rubbed with tung oil. The platform for the hand is made of wood and acrylic.
The piece is 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" x 8"high
